The main venue of the Braunschweigischen Landesmuseum, the Vieweghaus in Burgplatz, is expected to be closed until 2026 for restoration works. The venue at the former monastery of St. Aegidien has been closed due to restoration works since the summer of 2019. Reopening is scheduled for autumn 2021.

From Whitsun 2019 (June 10), the Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum's venue at Hinter Aegidien will be closed for the general public.
