Restoration works

The Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum is being restored. The State of Lower Saxony will invest 47.5 million euros to secure the future of this tradition-steeped history museum.

The main venue of the Braunschweigischen Landesmuseum, the Vieweghaus in Burgplatz, is expected to be closed until 2026 for restoration works. Special exhibitions will take place in various different locations in the Brunswick area. For further information, please go to our website (exhibitions) and our social media links.

The venue at the former monastery of St. Aegidien has been closed due to restoration works since the summer of 2019. Reopening is scheduled for autumn 2021.
