Our museum's name is derived fromm the Duke Anton Ulrich of Braunschweig-Lüneburg. He acquired the most prominent portion of the high-ranking collections: the most precious paintings - among which there are artworks by Giorgione, Rubens, Rembrandt and Jan Vermeer van Delft - the largest colelction of Italian majolica North of the Alps, over 200 examples of French enamel paiting and the sizeable collection of East Asian artworks.
