Everything you need to know when visiting the Museum

Taking photopraphs

Taking photographs without flash, tripod or selfie-stick in the rooms of the permanent collections at the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum and Burg Dankwarderode is generally permitted.

For conservational reasons it is essential that you adhere to the following rules:

  • The distance between the exhibit and your camera should be at least 1.5 meters.
  • Only the lighting at the museum may be used to take photographs and videos.

Accessibility

The Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum has step-free wheelchair access. All exhibition rooms in Museumstraße 1 can be reached via a lift.
The exhibition rooms in the listed Burg Dankwarderode are not step-free.

Assistance dogs are permitted (on presentation of an ID card at the information desk in the entrance hall).

Eating and drinking

Eating and drinking is not allowed in the exhibition rooms, the stairwell, the foyer and the museum shop. The Museumsbistro Anton’s offers a wide range of food and drinks.
